During June/July 2026, Dejan Jovanović completed a secondment at the University of Donja Gorica in Podgorica, Montenegro, one of the leading universities in the region, as part of the HAMTRACE project.
The secondment focused on early technical scoping of blockchain-enabled traceability and smart tagging — from defining data exchange requirements and middleware/API workflows to preparatory testing of dynamic QR codes and blockchain communication.
HAMTRACE combines chemical fingerprinting, AI and hyperspectral imaging, blockchain, and smart digital tags to build a transparent and secure traceability system tailored to the needs of the European agri-food sector. The project will run from 2026 to 2029, with pilot activities implemented in real food production environments.
The project is coordinated by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Programme
