How can rural areas become more resilient and sustainable with the help of digital technologies?
In the Serbian Living Lab, established as part of the EU-funded COMMECT project, we are addressing this question by combining renewable energy, IoT, and AI-based solutions. A mobile solar generator powers a LoRaWAN network, enabling connectivity in remote locations and supporting real-time data collection from IoT sensors placed in agricultural fields and protected areas.
All collected data is processed through agroNET, a digital platform that delivers actionable insights for optimized irrigation and crop protection. In parallel, a multilingual, AI-powered community platform with an integrated chatbot enables farmers to connect, collaborate, and easily access expert advice.
