On the occasion of World Cities Day, Professor Dejan Drajić delivered a lecture titled Evolution Toward Smart Cities at a closed expert session organized by the Association of Engineers of Telekom Srbija. The presentation addressed the key social and climate-related challenges modern cities face and explored how digital technologies can support cities that measure, learn, and intelligently manage their resources.
A dedicated segment of the lecture focused on the SENSE project, an initiative aimed at enhancing urban management through advanced IoT sensing, AI-driven analytics, and decision-support tools. The project demonstrates how real-time environmental and infrastructural data can improve city operations, strengthen resilience, and support smarter long-term planning. By integrating modern sensor networks with intelligent data processing, SENSE enables more responsive and sustainable urban ecosystems.
The session was held on 19 November 2025 via Microsoft Teams and gathered 113 participants from Telekom Srbija.
